Publication of VSCI engaged the attention overseas

In Slovak house in Melburne in the presence of nearly 80 expatriates was presented book Slovaks in Serbia from the cultural aspect.

With the book Slovaks in Serbia Slovaks in Austalia met in year 2012, when the autor of the book visited Melbourne. But then she doesn´t know how big response will be in this country, as well in Serbia or Slovakia.

Cultural Institute of Vojvodina’s Slovaks participated in the work of the international conference CRINSS and hosted the meeting of representatives of European Enterprise Network.

 

CRINSS – Creative Industries Summer Sessions is an international conference which has been held from September 12th -13th 2013 at the Cultural Centre in Novi Sad, organized by Vojvodina’s Creative Industries Cluster and the European Enterprise Network.

 

Festival "Divadelný Vavrín" coming soon!

    The Cultural Institute of Vojvodina’s Slovaks hosts the public art exhibition by the academic painter Maria Gaško, which will close at the end of August.

    On Thursday, August 1st 2013 in the premises of the Cultural Institute of Vojvodina’s Slovaks in Novi Sad, a retrospective exhibition of paintings by Maria Gaško was set to celebrate her 65th birthday.

     

    Evening full of freshness, youth and the written word

    The Cultural Institute held an evening event, during which the creativity of a young Slovakian writer Marek Zakopčan was presented together with the contemporary literary works in Slovakia.

    Marek Zakopčan from Banska Bistrica, a young Slovak novelist, the author of five novels, a high school teacher and primarily "a fan of humor in all its forms" (as he describes himself), was born on June 23rd 1986 in Banska Bistrica. He studied at the Faculty of Social Sciences of the University of Matej Bel in Banska Bistrica and is now employed as a teacher at a high school.

     

    CFE "Lúčka" from Bratislava visited the Institute

    Children from the folk ensemble "Lúčka", on their trip to Bulgaria, took a break in Vojvodina where they gained new experiences, adventures and made new friends among Vojvodina’s Slovaks.

    “Lúčka” was founded in 1985 in Bratislava’s Petržalka, with the main goal to preserve the spiritual heritage and traditions of the Slovak people. Of many regions of Slovakia, they are mainly focused on regions of Liptovo and Záhorie and through dance, they are trying to process and keep for all future generations the songs, dances and folk music from those areas. Today the ensemble consists of 60 boys and girls, 6 to 15 years old, who perform at festivals and cultural events at home and abroad.

     

    Little big Slovak community in Dobanovci

    The Cultural Institute of the Vojvodina's of Slovaks presented in Dobanovci its activity with emphasis on the second edition of Slovaks in Serbia in Terms of Culture.

    Depending on the point of view, ten years may be short but also an infinitely long period. From the perspective of a human life it’s not short, but from the perspective of development of the entire human civilization is just a drop in the sea. In the life of a minority, a decade could mean the irretrievable disappearance or its renaissance.
