270 years of history, literature and language of the Slovaks in Vojvodina

On Friday, October 16th 2015, an international conference called 270 years of history, literature and language of the Slovaks in Vojvodina was held.

 

 

In early 2015, two major Slovak institutions in Vojvodina, Department of Slovak Studies at the Philosophic Faculty of the University of Novi Sad and the Cultural Institute of Vojvodina's Slovaks have undertaken exceptional way to mark the 270th anniversary of the arrival of Slovaks to the territory of Vojvodina, specifically to Báčsky Petrovec.

Presentation of the book Slovaks in the Kingdom of Serbs, Croats and Slovenes 1918 – 1929 of the author Gabriela Gubová Červená was held on October 8th , 2015 in CIVS.

We are witnessing that history often repeats. Government departments are changing social conditions are not stable and fates of people are affected by many factors. But humans survived through – they live, work, adapt, yet protect their own – what sets them apart from others, which gives them an identity, what they live for and what compels them to go forward.

Research on the life stories of Slovak women from Lowland

CIVS continues with the project Women Studies. This time the research of the Slovak women life stories is held in Romania, Hungary and Croatia with the support of the Office for Slovaks Living Abroad.

The project is a continuation and expansion of a successful project established by the organization from Novi Sad called women studies, which in 2003 launched an Oral history research methods and subsequently released publication called Life stories of Slovak women in Vojvodina. The book reaped great success and prompted the Cultural Institute of Vojvodina's Slovaks to continue to work with the authors of this research, who will record and process the life stories of Slovak women living in Hungary, Romania and Croatia in the new phase of the research.

    48th International Travel Fair was festively opened on October 8th 2015. It will last until Saturday, October 10, 2015.

    Tourism connects people, nations and nationalities and has an important social role. We often hear that Serbia has rich tourist and cultural potential and that it has something to boast about to tourists. The opportunity to ascertain that have visitors of Tourism fairs, which offer many interesting events such as product presentations and promotions, exhibitions, there are also a grant rewards for the best ones and many competitions will be arranged.
