Publication of VSCI engaged the attention overseas

In Slovak house in Melburne in the presence of nearly 80 expatriates was presented book Slovaks in Serbia from the cultural aspect.

With the book Slovaks in Serbia Slovaks in Austalia met in year 2012, when the autor of the book visited Melbourne. But then she doesn´t know how big response will be in this country, as well in Serbia or Slovakia.

This event was 7th february 2014 in Slovak home in Melburne. The welcome speech had Andy Guljas, the President of the Association Ludovit Stur. The event began with the vernissage of photos Slovakia, our country. Authors of photos are Ivan Kenez, Igor Čombor and Lubomir Schmid from Slovakia.

About the book Slovaks in Serbia from the cultural aspect spoke Katarina Mosnak. She has first introduced Vojvodina Slovak cultural insitute and than the book itself.

On this event has introduced itself a female singing group of Slovak assotiation Ludovit Stur. Women sang few patriotic songs.  Singers were accompanied by orchestra composed of: Tom Peška (first violin), Martina Povolná (second violin), Miki Oravec (harmonica), Tom Šimák (guitar) a Ben Peška (contrabass).

110 years ago, a composer and organ player W. F.Bistri, a figure of all-Slavic cultural history, settled in Padina. The anniversary of his arrival was the opportunity for CIVS to organize a concert.

On Sunday, June 9th 2013, in Cultural Center in Silbaš, the newest publication of the local Slovaks ' Silbaš – Cultural Traditions of Slovaks in Bačka' was presented.
The 20th Festival of Children's Theatrical Work "3 x Đ", which involved 13 competitive plays, ended on Sunday in Stara Pazova.
